A true family affair, when you work with Ocean Homes we treat you like one of our own with a high-touch, personable experience from the start. What is it like to work with us?
For your initial consultation, both Rick and his wife Robin will sit down with you face-to-face to talk through your inspirations and aspirations - dream big because we want to hear all about your grand vision. We will sketch. We will swap photos. We will share ideas. And we won’t rest until you are brimming with excitement over your build. Because we are proponents of communication and collaboration, you will leave with the dynamic duos’ personal cell phone numbers and come to find that both are quick to answer and eager to respond to any question you may have.
From there our team will shift into execution mode getting down to the brass tax of your project. You will immediately appreciate full transparency and straight shooting around timeline, cost and expectations for your unique endeavor. Although we pride ourselves on our artistic and creative approach, we also pack a punch when it comes to project management and handling the abundant, complex details of your build with minimal stress for you.
You’ll also appreciate that our strong relationship building skills extend to our subcontractors most of whom we’ve worked with for more than 25 years.
Make no mistake, that when it comes time to push dirt our team does so with gusto. Onsite, you’ll meet our boys, Ryan and Grant, who serve as Ocean Homes’ Project Supervisors.
Throughout your build, you will enjoy a present and attentive experience with the Ocean Homes team. To us, you are not a project, you are family and we are honored to be trusted with building your vision.

“Our family was looking for a home to buy on Kiawah or Isle of Palm in 2016. We did our homework and knew the market in the area and our budget. We toured lots of great homes, but nothing met our needs. We had no intention of building, but an opportunity arose on an amazing piece of land that was worth a look.
We met with Rick Mitchell over Thanksgiving weekend, and by the end of the meeting we were excited to build a new home with a great builder. Rick assisted with home layout options and design to maximize space and resources for an amazing project that was completed the spring of 2018.

Rick's immediate team is comprised of his family including his incredibly organized wife, Robin, as well as his two courteous, professional, and skilled craftsmen sons. His larger team includes many people that he has had a working relationship with for decades.
Building a home can be stressful. Building a home from a significant distance is even more so. Rick provided frequent verbal and visual updates, and was quick to respond for questions, as were the rest of his team. We opened our home with a celebration including 20 of our friends from out of town, and Rick and his family were right there celebrating with us.
We are hoping to work with him again on a future project."
